Hi Tony,

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful. You might also want to check out our Before You Import a GEDCOM help page. Feel free to message me if you have any questions!

Hello All!

My name is Tony, and I'm a buddingly keen genealogist. I'm quite new here, and thus my profile is still under construction. I've recently been entrusted with the honour of being a greeter...So, when I greet someone, trust me, I'm keen to assist. Hope to get to know some of you soon.

You may want to check out our Genealogy Help Category Which includes links to a lot of free source websites. I"m particularly fond of FamilySearch.com myself...

Hello all.

I've been researching my family tree on and off for about the last thirty years. However, since being contacted by a long lost cousin I want to make genealogy a more serious and shared passion. In truth, I'm a little weary of paid genealogy web sites and I don't really know why...But its something along these lines; The source of the information used on such sites has been gathered by our ancestors, and now they charge us to access it on their database, for example, I've got to pay silly money to access information pertaining to a war hero in my family....I shouldn't have to pay for that, surely? Anyway, that's my soapbox. I hope to share and contribute here in a positive manner and if I can be of assistance to anyone, please, let me know...Tony
