John was born about 1855. He was the son of James Sole and .

On the 24th December 1880, John Sole married Rebecca Maria Thurstin at Christ Church, Ramsgate, Kent. John Sole, 25, bachelor, Trinity Service (mariner) of Sailor's Home, Ramsgate, son of James Sole (farm labourer); and Rebecca Maria Thurstin, 22, spinster of 2 York Terrace, Ramsgate, daughter of Henry Thurstin (? man). Witnessed by John Hoy and Selina Harriett Wakeham^[1][2][3].

He passed away about 1928. ^[4]
