Joseph Sonnier, a son of Savenia Sonnier and Marguerite Anunciad Sonnier, was born in May 1868 in Toomey, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.

Their known children were:

  1. Annie Sonnier (1898-1961)
  2. Ida Sonnier (1900-1968)
  3. Johnson Sonnier (1902-1981)

JOSEPH SONNIER, 68, FARMER AT TOOMEY, SUCCOMBS TODAY

JOSEPH SONNIER, 68, died at 2:30 a.m. today at his home in Toomey. He was born in Vinton and had been a farmed in that community all his life.
Survivors are his wife; one son, Johnson Sonnier, Toomey; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Kidd, Newcamy, Tex., and Mrs. Annie Jackson, Johnson’s Bayou; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Young, Vinton, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the family residence Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Mr. Guillory, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Toomey cemetery with Hixson funeral home in charge.
