Reta Dorothy Sternbeck was born on 18 May 1908 in Wollombi, New South Wales, Australia as the sixth child of George Earl Sternbeck and Sarah Henrietta Hildergarde Jacobs. She had six siblings, namely: Beryl Grace, Linda May, Alma Susan, Hercules George, Edna Hildergarde and Leila Elizabeth. She died on 07 Jul 1971 in Denman, New South Wales, Australia. When she was 22, she married Victor Roy Connelly, son of Joseph Connelly and Kathleen, in 1931 in Burwood, New South Wales, Australia.

Victor Roy Connelly and Reta Dorothy Sternbeck had the following children:
