Biography

Elizabeth (Stevens) Ellyson was an Appalachian.

Elizabeth Stevens was born in about 1797 in Virginia, to Edward Stevens.^[1],^[2],^[3]

Elizabeth married Gideon Ellyson in1816 in Harrison, West Virginia, United States.^[3],^[4] The couple had several children, including Kesiah/Kaziah (Ellyson) Tolbert, Louisa Ellyson, Isaac H. Ellyson, Emeline Ellyson, Samuel Ellyson (b. abt 1839 in Virginia), Robert F. Ellyson, and Edward G. Ellyson (b. abt 1842 in Virginia)^[1],^[2] and also Zachariah Ellyson, John Ellyson, Mary (Ellyson) Talbott, and Julia Ellyson.^[4]

Elizabeth passed away on May 15, 1863 and is buried in Mount Olive Cemetery, Philippi, Barbour County, West Virginia.^[5]
