Robert Stewart was born abt 1721 in Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was the son of James Stewart and his wife Margaret Alexander.
He was baptised Robert Stewart, in Abbey, Paisley, Scotland on 29 Jun 1721.
It is probable that Robert had already "gone to Sea" probably as a crewman or possibly as a mariner or Master Mariner and was working the west coast trade between Glasgow, Workington, Whitehaven, Liverpool and Bristol.
Died 1769, Workington, Cumberland, England and he was buried in Workington on 9 May 1769.
