Stone-22087 and Stone-12098 are not ready to be merged because: Would like to clarify dates, please. :)
On WikiTree there should only be one profile for each person. These profiles are obviously for the same person. They have the same spouse and the same child. They should be merged. If there's a difference of opinion about dates, the two profile managers should discuss and compare their sources. If they can't agree on the birth date (8 Mar 1797 or 19 Aug 1797) and/or the death date (8 Aug 1853 or 1 Mar 1887), the discrepancy can be mentioned in the biography, and the merge completed. Create a = Research Notes = section just above the = Sources = section, and explain which information came from which source, and what you have not been able to resolve.

The profile manager for Stone-12098 has provided sources for the information on that profile. Does the manager for Stone-22087 also have sources, so the two of you can compare and decide which is most likely to be correct? You have 30 days from when the merge is proposed before it goes to default, allowing anyone to complete the merge. For that 30 days no one else can complete the merge until each of you has okayed it.

The merge should not be delayed any further. I've re-proposed it. Please work together to work out your differences. Please do not postpone it any further. Thanks!

Hey Kay, I'm happy to collaborate with Kate on this, but for goodness sakes, GIVE US MORE THAN 24 HOURS TO DO IT. I have limited time for genealogical research; I'm not sure what obligations Kate has, but she may also not be in a position to fix this right away. She was entirely justified in turning it into an unmerged match. Stull is an extremely common name in Frederick, and it's entirely possible that we have data on two different Elizabeth (Stone) Stulls and one's attached to the wrong husband; we need to determine that before we merge. If we haven't done anything about this in four months, then nag us about it then; right now, we haven't even had a day to consider this merge!

Sharon, There is no rush. You still have 30 days to work on this. But changing it to an unmerged match means that the 30-day time frame is delayed permanently. I've seen unmerged matches that are more than 2 years old--because people forget about them, and never go back to figure them out. The only information on the other profile is a duplicate daughter, Ruanna Barbara Stull Engle, who died in Frederick, Maryland, on 1 September 1920. That name, and that specific information about her death, is not common at all, so it's extremely clear the daughter is a duplicate. But her duplicate profiles can't be merged until her parents' profiles have been merged. I'm sorry, but I have no way to keep track of this pending merge for 4 months. WikiTree procedures are set up to allow 30 days during which only the profile managers can complete the merge. I hope you both can find the time in the next 30 days to look into this. At a minimum, I don't think it's unreasonable for me to ask Kate to provide sources for the dates on Stone-22087. You and she will need to be able to compare them, to decide which information is correct. Please let me know if you still have questions. Thanks!
