James Peter Stynes was born in 1966 at Dublin, Ireland.[1]

Education

James Peter Stynes OAM ASM was born at Dublin, Ireland, to a Roman Catholic family, the eldest son of Brian and Teresa Stynes and one of six siblings. Jim grew up in Rathfarnham and attended Ballyroan Boys National School before attending high school at the De La Salle College, Churchtown, Dublin.[1]
While in Australia he would go on to graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science degree and a Diploma in Youth Work from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University). He additionally earned a Bachelor of Education degree from Deakin University and received an honorary degree of Doctor of the University from the Australian Catholic University.[1]

James Stynes emigrated from Ireland to Australia after signing to play Australian rules football with the Melbourne Football Club (MFC) in 1987.[1]

He is survived by his wife, Samantha and a daughter and a son.[1][2]
