Biography

George Mackay Sutherland was born at a time when his parents were living at Uppat in Sutherland which his father had inherited from his grandfather in 1793.

George Mackay Sutherland and his first wife Elizabeth Walker lived at Udale, the 500 acre estate he had purchased in Cromartyshire. He sold it 1846 and bought another estate at Aberarder, Strathnairn for £30.500 in 1846.
