Hi! I forwarded your question to someone more experienced, and here is what was suggested: Propose the merge (highest numbered profile into the lowest numbered profile). For more detailed info check out:

I hope this can solve your merge issue. -- Jenny, WikiTree Greeter

Jenny,

Thank you for this information; it is very helpful. I have requested a merge, so will wait it out 30 days and go from there.

Again, thanks for your help,

Paul

Hi P,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

I do have a question. I have been wanting to merge to profiles of the same person. Before requesting a merge, I sent a private message to the manager of the other profile sharing what information I have available and why I would like to merge. After a week I haven't heard back from that person. I decided to go ahead and request the merge, and again no response to the request. As a new member, I am not sure what is the next step that should be taken to move things along. Do you have any suggestions. Thank you for your help, Paul Swisher
