Biography

According to Census Records, Martha Tedder was born between 1831 and 1835.^{[1][2][3][4][5]} She was the daughter of Isaac Tedder and Elizabeth Sullivan. On 8 Sep 1854, Martha married Constantine P. Sullivan, as his second wife, in Washington Co., AL.^[6][7][8][9]

Constantine and Martha had five children:

1. Constantine P. Sullivan (1858- )

Constantine had a son, Lafayette Sullivan (1847-1924) by his first wife; and his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sullivan (1854-1936) was probably the daughter of his first wife as well.

Martha's husband, Constantine died on 3 Feb 1897, and she made a Widows Application for his Confederate Pension on 27 Jul 1897. In Feb 1898 she stated that her taxable property was 80 acres of land and 8 head of cattle. Her property was appraised and sworn to on 5 Jun 1899 as 1 dwelling house log, 1 kitche, 1 creb smokehouse, valued at $40, 6 head of cattel, $48, 1 clock, $3; and household/kitchen furniture worth $12 for a total of $103. Her application was approved on 12 Jun 1899.^[14]

Martha died on 28 Feb 1912 at the age of 54.^[15]
