12 Aug 1733: Penelope Tempest, daughter of Elizabeth, christened at Kent, England.[2]
20 Jul 1755: Married Abraham Whitaker at Cranbrook, Kent, England.[3]
3 Jan 1756: In the will of William Tempest "my Daughter Penelope the Wife of Abraham Whittaker" is left Birchwood in Biddenden.[4][5]
11 Feb 1818: Died at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.[6]
Research Notes
Burke's says her father was John Tempest of Cranbrook, Kent.
But note that the parentage as given here is supported by Robert Surtees's The History and Antiquities of the County Palatine of Durham.[1] An image of this version of the pedigree is attached here for convenience.
Furthermore, she is listed as "my Daughter Penelope the Wife of Abraham Whittaker" in the will of William Tempest dated 3 January 1756.
