Biography

Carl Lester Thompson, Sr, son of Alph Thompson and Theodosha (Austin) Thompson, was born on 28 March 1889 at Bettie, Upshur County, Texas, USA.[1][2][3] He and his mother appeared on the census of 11 June 1900 in the home of his grandparents at Lamar County, Texas.[4] He was a laborer at a laundry when he appeared on the census of 20 April 1910 in the home of his mother at Dennison, Grayson County, Texas.[5]

He married Emma Louise Parton.[1]

He was a wagon driver for the Wells Fargo Express Company at Dallas, Texas when he registered for the draft in 1917.[2] He was a machine carpenter for the railroad when he and Emma appeared on the census of 6 Jan. 1920 at Denison, Grayson County, Texas.[6]

Carl died on 8 June 1980 and and was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.[3] His memorial has photos including one of his headstone shared with Emma and links to those of family members. [1]
