Clarification of Parentage

William Thorp, early immigrant (c. 1637) to New Haven, Connecticut had a first wife who is completely unknown. Neither her first nor last name appears in any primary records. Unfortunately due to a faulty genealogy by Sheldon Thorpe (refuted by Donald Lines Jacobus in his TAG 20:237 article} mistakenly called her "Elizabeth" based on a 1635 emigration from London to Island of Providence off the coast of Columbia of a different William Thorpe and wife Elizabeth Unknown. William of New Haven married Margaret Unknown, wife of Robert Pigg in October 1661 in New Haven and it is currently assumed that all his children were from his first, unknown wife who died before 1661 (but NOT on 9 Oct 1660 as asserted by Sheldon Thorpe, no such record has been found). She was also not Ursula Smith of Gloucestershire, England who married a different William Thorpe of Wanswell, there is no indication that this couple ever traveled to New England. Nor was she Elizabeth Rest of Leicestershire, England who married a different William Thorp in 1639 in England and of whom no further record has yet been found (remember that WIlliam of New Haven was there as a servant in 1637, he was there on 4 June 1639 to be named a freeman and was there in May 1640 when his son Nathaniel was baptized). Thorp-146 and Thorpe-16 appear to represent the same person because: same name, same spouse name, same daughter name with exact same dates

Thorp-146 and Thorpe-16 do not represent the same person because: Expediting challenge merge.

Thorpe-1104 and Thorpe-16 appear to represent the same person because: Now that the incorrect mother on -16 has been removed, and the true parents listed in the bio (William and Elizabeth Thorpe), these can be merged. Same birth info, death info and spouse. Will create a pending merge for dup spouses. Please merge.

From the NEHGR, Samuel is the son of William Thorpe and Elizabeth (unknown). Do you have any source data to show his mother was Bridget?
