1880 Immigrated to New York, USA with wife Marie/Mary (Friedman) (1856-1934) and daughter Jennie on the SS State of Nevada from Glasgow, Scotland, arriving in New York City on 24 May 1880.[2]OR: On 10 Nov 1880 Moritz, his mother and father, and sister Resi left Hamburg bound for New York City on the Silesia, a ship of the Hamburg-Amerikanishe Packetfahrt-Actien Gesellschaft line.[3] They arrived in New York 29 Nov 1880.[4]
1881 Son Abe Toffler born on 27 Oct 1881 in Manhattan, New York.[5][6]
1884 Son Maximillian (Max) Toffler born on 23 Sep 1884 in New York City.[7] Max died a widower on 17 Mar 1967, in Dallas, Texas.[8]
1885 Moved to Leavenworth, Kansas and opened a second-hand menswear store, which later became a men's furnishings and tailoring store on the south-west corner of 6th and Cherokee Streets. For the first few years the family lived above the store.
1891 Daughter Minnie (Minna) Toffler was born 1 Aug. Minnie died unmarried on 1 Nov 1957. She is buried in the Sons of Truth (Mt Zion) Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.[9]
