Biography

1853 Resi Toffler was born in Péchiújfalu (now Pečovská Nová Ves), Sarós, Hungary about 1853. She was the daughter of Abraham Toffler and Dora Reikowitsch. [1]

1880 Resi, or Rosie as she was called, immigrated to the US. On 10 Nov 1880 Resi, her mother and father, and brother Moritz left Hamburg bound for New York City on the Silesia, a ship of the Hamburg-Amerikanishe Packetfahrt-Actien Gesellschaft line.[2] They arrived in New York 29 Nov 1880.[3][4]

She probably went to Leavenworth, Kansas with her brother and mother where she likely met her husband-to-be Isador Green. Rosie and Isador moved to Antonito, Conejos, Colorado where Isador became a hide and fur dealer. They had a son, Edward A. Green (born in Kansas about 1889), who also lived in Antonito, married a woman from Pennsylvania named Florence, and had a son, Stanford J. Green, born in Colorado about 1915.[5]

1900 According to this census report, Rose was born in December 1856. She was living in Antonito, Colorado with her husband, who was working as a day laborer, and her son Edward, who was born in Kansas in Nov 1888. She and Isador had been married for 25 years. The citizenship section of this census report noting the year of immigration was not filled in.[6]

1910 Rosie, Isador and son Edward were still living in Antonito, Colorado in May 1910. According to this census report Isador had immigrated to the US in 1879. Isador was a hide and wool dealer.[4]

1920 Rosie died 24 Mar 1920 in Antonito. Her body was removed to Leavenworth, Kansas and buried in the Sons of Truth (Mt Zion) Cemetery.[7][8]
