Biography

Christian ______ Chamberlain[1] was the mother of Henry Chamberlain, shoemaker, who with his widowed mother and wife Grace emigrated from Hingham, Norfolk, England to Hingham, Massachusetts in 1638.[2]

This is distinct from Henry Chamberlain, blacksmith, who with wife Jane, also came to Hingham, Massachusetts the same year.[3]

She was NOT the sister of Israel Stoughton.[4]

The name of her husband is not known.

Her son Henry returned to England by 28 Jul 1649, when his wife Grace deposed that "before her husband went to England that the aforesaid Henery Chamberlin her husband had sould" his house lot in Hingham [Plymouth Colony].[2] -- probably with Rev Robert Peck.[citation needed]. She remained in Massachusetts and died as "widow Christian Chamberlain, age 81" in Hingham, Massachusetts on 19 Apr 1659.[5]

Other than son Henry, with whom she emigrated, no other children are known. She was not the mother of Richard Chamberlain.

Thanks Stu. Christian and Henry are now connected.

I have commented out the details on her son Henry's life and the list of his children. Because he now has a profile on WikiTree with that information, it is not needed here.

Christian should be connected to Henry, as his mother. Since she is PPP, a leader should do it.
