Notes for William VARDEMAN: Shown on Plat Map M-2 owning 440 acres in 1785. (Name also spelled Vardaman and Vardeman) He settled near Hunting Fork, between Enoree and Tyger Rivers. He made will Feb 4, 1783 and died about 1788, leaving widow Bridget and children: John, William, Peter, and James.
James inherited the home plantation at Hunting Fork . Some of the other sons moved to GA and AL. James sold his lands later, so it is probable that he too, moved to AL. From Summer's book on Newberry Co.: Vardeman came from PA with his family before the Rev. War.

James Vardaman was named as the Executor in his fathers will[1] and James died intestate with his estate appraised October 25, 1797.[2] His wife is listed in the sale of this estate as both widow Vardaman and Jane Vardaman. Janes brother George Johnson is also listed.[3]
