Biography

Susanna Varnum was born on 04 September 1734 in Dracut, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay, the daughter of John and Phebe (Parker) Varnum.[1]

She married Ebenezer Poor after intentions were recorded at Dracut on 15 February,[2] and at Andover on 19 February 1757.[3]

Susannah Poor died aged 77 years on 27 November 1811 in Andover, Maine. [4] She was buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Andover.[5]

Ebenezer and Susanna (Varnum) Poor had twelve children:[6]

  1. Ebenezer, b. 4 Jan 1758; d. 31 Jul 1762.
  2. Betsey, b. 2 Dec 1759; d. 14 Oct 1797 Andover, ME; m. 1 Dec 1785 Nathan Adams.
  3. Susan, b. 1762; d. 1762.
  4. Lydia, b. 4 Apr 1762; d. Aug 1762.
  5. Susannah, b. 29 Nov 1763; d. 1844 at Bangor, ME; m. 23 Jan 1794 Luke Wilder.
  6. Ebenezer, b. 28 Oct 1765; d. 15 Jan 1837 at Andover ME; m. 8 Sep 1794 (1) Betsey Stevens; m. (2) Lucy Littlefield Wasson.
  7. Sylvanus, b. 7 Mar 1768; d. 1 Nov 1848 at Andover, ME; m. 18 Feb 1803 Mary Merrill.
  8. William, b. 3 Aug 1770; d. 4 Jul 1776.
  9. Dolly, b. 12 oct 1772; d. 29 Sep 1820 at Hebron; m. 10 jul 1808 Christoper Allen.
  10. Prsis, b. 22 Oct 1774; d. 18 Jan 1850 at Williamsburg, ME; m. 11 Feb 1805 Moses Greenleaf.
