Elizabeth was born in 1633.[citation needed] [1]The Mobleys in America
PART I
COLONIAL MARYLAND
There were three Mobley families among the earliest settlers of the colonies.
Maryland records now show the following:
John Mobberly died ca 1683 (will dated 12/30/1683), in St. Mary's Co., MD, leaving a will with his wife, Elizabeth (nee Venns), Elizabeth's brother Richard Venns and his daughter as the only heirs mentioned. The will was signed by mark. There is no indication in found records of his relationship, if any, to the other two early families.
Obituary of John Mobberly [2]probated 12/30/1683
Know all men that I John Mobberly being in a very weak condition yet in perfect memory Blessed be God for the same doe have declare this my last will and testament First bequeathing my soul into the hands of Almighty God who is my great Creator and Redeemer and my poor body to the dust.
I do freely give and bequeath to my dear and loving wife Elizabeth Mobberly three mares and one horse with two steers that is at Mr. Thomas Venns the one steer wants a crop in the tail for I was not their when it was marked 16 or 17 cattle at Mr. Nicholas Spencers with 6 : 5 : 5 : and two crops besides owing to me by Mr. Nicholas Spencer. 172 lb. tobacco which I desire my dear wife to satisfy.
I also give to my dear and loving wife Elizabeth Mobberly five pounds that is owing by Mr. Thomas Venn, also 100 lb of tobacco a barrell for as much corne as is owing by Mr. Nicholas Spencer but how much I cannot certainly tell with all other goods and chattells that I have in this world I freely bequeath to her excepting one bay mare with a wein by her side which I do bequeath to my brother Richard Venns oldest daughter Margaret Venns. Given under my hand and seal this thirtyeth day of December in the three and thirtheth year of the reign of King Charles the Second over England, Scotland, France, Ireland as well as the plantations King Defender of the Faith
Anno Domini 1683
Elizabeth is the wife named in the will of John Mobberly. John Mobberly also refers to "my brother Richard Venn" in his will, which is seen as a suggestion that Richard is Elizabeth's brother. (Note: Transcriptions of the will often use the name "Nenns" or "Nennes" rather than "Venns", but a careful reading of the earliest transcription shows that the name was "Venns", not "Nennes".)

Elizabeth would have died after 2 Sep 1684, the date John's will was entered into probate.

Elizabeth was born in 1638.

Nennes-1 and Venns-2 appear to represent the same person because: Same husband, similar (but undocumented) birth dates. Nennes-1 only source is an undocumented Find A Grave site lacking any evidence; Venns-2 references a record and explains differences in claimed family names.
