Biography

Jacob Vickery was born March 17, 1785, the son of Moses Vickery and Sarah Trefry, who settled in Yarmouth Nova Scotia in 1773[1]

He married Bethiah Allen, daughter of Captain Jeremiah Allen[1], and their children included:

  1. Bethiah, born September 7, 1811, who married Charles H. Crosby son of Kowles Crosby on March 24, 1836, and who died February 24, 1842
  2. Hannah Ring, born January 17,1813, who married Zachariah Foote son of Samuel Foote on November 27, 1834, and died August 3, 1889
  3. Jacob, born April 25, 1814, who married Edith Saunders daughter of Moses, and then married Abigail Durkee daughter of Pearl Durkee on March 16, 1855, and then married Catherine (Van Norden) Williams, widow of Joel Williams
  4. Samuel (4th), born 1814, married Emma Anne Crosby, daughter of Enoch Crosby on April 21, 1842, and died December 30, 1892
  5. Sarah Anne, who married John Craig on January 1, 1840
  6. Jeremiah, born May 5, 1817, who married Lydia S. Crosby, daughter of Enoch Crosby on February 18, 1841, and died September 1, 1876
  7. Zilpha, married Isaac Foote, son of Zachariah Foote on January 15, 1846
  8. James, who married Mary Ellis Power, daughter of Captain Nathaniel Power, on October 14, 1849
  9. Zachariah, who married Martha Ellen Crosby daughter of Nathan Crosby on May 17, 1854
  10. Elizabeth, who married James Cann, son of Captain Jess Cann on October 9, 1854
  11. George, who married Mary Tedford, daughter of Benjah Tedford on September 21, 1856

Jacob died May 6, 1867[2]
