Biography

Newberry Co., SC Equity Court records for 1826, no box or package, but followed Box 11 Package 2 and was filed 16 May 1826 - Alexander Chalmers vs. William Chalmers. Bill for partition - mentions that Margaret Hopper married William Waldrop and then moved to Dekalk Co., GA by 1829. This is probably the William Waldrop that she married.

HLW claims he was born 23 Mar 1807.

HLW - Died at residence of Pulmonary Consumption, age 44, Ref. Upper SC. Newspaper. Another record indicates he died on 17 Jan 1851, same paper, p. 12, by Holcomb. William A. Waldrop's birthdate taken from Bible of Solomon Tilman Fuller who married Phebe Anderson Waldrop after Elisha died. He conveyed to Samuel Waldrop of Laurens Co., SC. 310 acres located on Mudlick Creek in Newberry Co., 31 Oct 1766. Deed book "D" 2-83 Newberry Co., SC. William A. mentioned in Will of Elisha Waldrop. Solomon Tilman Fuller presented a bill for boarding William A. Waldrop for 9 months against the estate settled in 1826.
