David was born the son of Johann Jacob Walter II and Anna Maria Kauffman. He married Susanna Eberhart. Their children were:

David was a soldier in the American Revolution. He served under Captain Mull of Sunbury[1]. He is buried in the Salem United Methodist Cemetery, Penns Creek, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.[2]
