Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with cousins and anyone else with an interest in genealogy. My family tree is on another website.
I was adopted as a child and researching both my biological genealogy father Wasnick/mother Paradis and adopted family's genealogy father Rouse/ mother Rocheleau. I am interested in finding those that immigrated from both Poland and France. My Ancestry.ca name is routin_tr where my tree can be found. I am currently going through my Ancestry tree with a fine tooth comb to verify with sources as much as possible. There may be mistakes but I am working hard to fix them.

DNA Connections

Hi, T

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi T and Welcome to WikiTree!

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

You mentioned you were adopted. By adding your branches to our shared tree, there may be an opportunity for someone to find you!

Adoptees: How to Set Up Your Profile is a WikiTree help page specifically designed for new members who indicate they are adoptees. It is also helpful for non-adopted members who have living adoptees in their family tree. The page includes links to more resources, like our Adoption Angels Project, basic search techniques, information on DNA, etc.

You also indicated that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point.

Take your time, keep track of sources, and ask questions. Check here for tips.
