Biography
William was born in 1835, the son of John Watkins and Elizabeth Karn Watkins. His birth year is based on being 14 at the time of the 1850 census, which means he would be 15 in December. His death certificate shows him born in 1836, while his tombstone carries the year 1834. With the census being the closest to his actual birth, 1835 was chosen.
He was the first born. In early 1873, he married Victoria Massie. Together they had four children: Richard, twins Cordia A and Cora Alice, and James. He passed away in 1912.
