Biography

Amos Webster was born in Plymouth, Grafton County, New Hampshire, 26 January 1777. Amos died in Plymouth, 23 November 1866. He was the son of Stephen Webster and his wife, Hannah Dolbeer. [1][2]

Amos Webster married in Plymouth, 12 December 1805, Esther Gould, the daughter of Benjamin Gould and his wife, Sarah.

Family

Amos and Esther (Gould) Webster were the parents of five (5) children,

  1. William Webster, born 16 January 1807,[3] died in Plymouth, 16 January 1894; married Laura A. Harriman, the daughter of John Harriman.
  2. Hazen Webster, born in Plymouth, 4 October 1810,[4] died in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, 27 May 1885; married in Rumney, Grafton County, New Hampshire, 3 October 1838, Hannah Herbert Preston, the daughter of William Preston and his second wife, Mary Herbert.
  3. Mary G. Webster, born 16 July 1813;[5] died, probably Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, 1 November 1885, unmarried.
  4. Lyman Webster, born 13 March 1818,[6] died in Brimfield, Massachusetts, 8 February 1892; married, probably Brimfield, 29 November 1843,[7] or 27 November 1844,[8] Jane Hitchcock, daughter of Eaton Hitchcock and his wife, Eunice Brown.
  5. Benjamin Goold Webster, born 8 November 1820;[9] married in Brimfield, 10 October 1849, Sarah N. Andrews, daugher of Robert and Lucy Andrews.[10]
