Charlotte Williams was born in about 1872 in Holywell, Flintshire. She was the daughter of Benjamin Williams.
Charlotte married William Dixon on 17 Oct 1891 at St Nicholas' Church in Sutton. William was 21 and a miner; Charlotte was 19. Neither had been married before, and both were living in Sutton. Their fathers were named as James Dixon (miner) and Benjamin Williams (deceased labourer). The witnesses were John Dixon and Elizabeth Dixon.
Their son Ernest was born in about 1896 in St Helens.
Their daughter Winifred was born in about 1899 in St Helens.
By March 31st 1901, William and Charlotte were living at 44 Wawn Street, South Shields. William was working as a coal hewer.
By April 2nd 1911, they were back in St Helens. William was still a coal hewer.
