Hi Milus,

You may be adding children to the incorrect Ambrose Wright. There were two Ambrose Wrights in Greene, New York, one in Freehold and one in Durham. Please make sure you check your sources and add them to the profiles.

Hi Milus,

When making changes in Wikitree, especially to relationships, names and dates, please add your sources for the "different data". The Wright family is well researched and some of the changes you have made do not agree with the research.

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Be sure to also check out our Volunteer Hub to see our projects that really need new members!

Let me know, and I can help you figure out if there's a project that might interest you. Welcome aboard, we are glad to have you!

Don't forget to ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.

In case you haven't seen it, our G2G Question of the week is: Do you set weekly genealogical goals? If so, what do you want to accomplish this week?

Hi Milus,

A warm welcome to WikiTree, a genealogy site different than any other! You should have received an email from us with helpful links to get started.

Our goal is to have one single profile per person so that we have ONE big family tree and we collaborate together to make that happen.

Each volunteer at WikiTree adds to the collaborative tree at their own pace, there are no minimum requirements for time or entry.

When you volunteer, you indicate your interests by adding tags and comments and then one of our Greeters will confirm your membership.

Please check out our question of the week Do you set weekly genealogical goals? If so, what do you want to accomplish this week?

Welcome to the family!
