Biography

Job was born about 1760 in Maryland. He was the son of Thomas Wroton and Rachel Wheatley.

He was married first about 1784 to Unknown Unknown (about 1765-about 1810). They were the parents of the following children:

  2. Canon Wroughton (after 1790-24 Dec 1863), married Mary Victor

  4. Levin Wroten (after 1800-after 1833), married Salley Mason
  5. Burton Wroten (after 1804-before 1839), married first to Nancy Higman, married second to Levina Bossman, may be reversed, no dates
  6. Margaret Wroten (after 1810-after 1830), married John Willey

He lived in Maryland until after 1796, for the birth of his first three children.

He was married a second time to Letty Higmon (about 1800-after 1860). The marriage bond was dated 25 Nov 1821, signed by Job Wroten and Manlove Higman. Job signed his name "Job Wroughton" and Manlove Higman made his mark. Witnesses were Clement Broady and William Hardesty, who signed their names.[1] Job and Letty were the parents of:

  1. Thomas Wroten (after 1823-after 1850)

He passed away about 1839.[2]
