Biography

Mary Alvord was born 25 Nov 1796 in Homer, New York. She was the third child of Charles Alvord and Eunice Leaming.

She married 25 Feb 1817 @ Cortland, New York, George Walter [b. 28 Sep 1796 @ Cortland, NY; d. 25 Feb 1856 @ Mirabile, Missouri], with whom she had one child:

  1. Louisa Mary (Walter; 1818-1902), b. 10 Sep 1818; married 25 Feb 1847 John F. Dodge; d. 28 Jan 1902 @ Hamilton, Missouri

After the death of her husband, Mary resided in the household of John Freeman Dodge (1824-1885) and his family, in Mirabile, Missouri [1].

Mary (Alvord) Walter died 6 Feb 1896 @ Hamilton, Missouri.
