I see you added the DNA tag to your profile. Here are a few links & tips to help you along in the journey of WikiTree and DNA.

It's not hard to add DNA test information to profiles on WikiTree, just make sure you add the tests to the actual test participant's profile & set the Privacy to ‘Private w/ Public Biography & Family Tree’ to show the tester's part of our tree. For help see  How to DNA on WikiTree

I finally came across your profile on WikiTree :-)

We are 9th cousins 1x removed through our shared Quebecois ancestor of Pierre Richer

I have added you to my Wiki Cousins Space Page.

Karin, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}

Thanks,

Karen

Hi!

How are you? I'm Guy a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

Check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.

Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Hi Karin, I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to great info about adding a GEDCOM to WikiTree that you might find helpful. Also, 'Before you import a GEDCOM' Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out.

Sources are very important for genealogy - be sure to include the sources used, on each profile you add.

It is a good idea to enter a few of your ancestors manually, to get used to how WikiTree works. Then, you could upload a small portion of your tree, with a gedcom, to see how that works. There is usually editing needed after a Gedcom import, so fewer profiles makes the task easier.
