I've been working on my family tree for over 20 years. My father always told us tales about our famous relatives whose painting hangs in the rotunda of the Capitol building in Washington D.C. Our family has been fascinated with our ancestors for generations.

Hi again, S.

You will be receiving many merge proposals for the duplicates you have created. Please approve them promptly. Also, please be sure to add reliable sources and dates to profiles; that will hopefully help ensure that duplicates are not being created. See this information on finding existing profiles in advance of creating duplicates: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:How_to_Search_for_Existing_Profiles

Hi S,

I noticed that you have been making relationship changes without documenting the sources (for example, Elizabeth (Holmes) Riggs (bef.1590-1634)). Please read the following: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Communication_Before_Editing, and remember that we all collaborate on our shared tree: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Collaborative_Family_Tree.

I reverted the changes to Elizabeth Holmes since hers is a PGM Project managed profiles.

If you have any questions, please reply, or contact a mentor.

Hi S.,

Please note that all of the Mayflower passengers and their spouses are already profiled on WikiTree. Additionally most have at least 2-3 generations of descendants profiled. Please be sure to check for these and any other "famous" ancestors before creating new profiles. When in doubt, you can ask on G2G.

Regards,

Bobbie

Hello, S!

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi S,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
