It appears that some erroneous information may have been published, and perhaps republished/reported, making the “actual facts” obscure. There is a great deal of conflicting information surrounding the Collins Family of Essex – Many Source-to-Source discrepancies; co-mingling, Lack of records; conflicting family stories; number of Collin’s with the same names, etc.

Collins-4340 and Collins-1810 appear to represent the same person because: Same person (parents of mine were separated during upload to WikiTree, but they're the same, too). 1734 is the most agreed-upon birthdate among RootsWeb users, and his will was probated February 29, 1792, so he died before then.
