Biography

Bradley was born in 1802 to William Dalton and Charlotte Johnson.

He married Mary Hill on 25 December 1827 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. ^[1][2] Together they had the following children:

1. Toliver Zeb Dalton
2. Mary Dalton
3. Randolph L Dolphus Dalton
4. Sarah Dalton

He married Narcissa Heyden on 12 November 1840 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. ^[3][4][5] She was about age 15 and he was about age 38. Together they had the following children:

2. Henry Dalton ^[5]
3. John Dalton ^[5]
4. Hampton Dalton ^[5]
5. Matilda Dalton ^[5][6]

With Bradley's other children Dora md Moss, Andrew md Etta Moss, Annie md.to Lafayette Newman, Caroline Freelove to Thomas Columbus Smith, Ben, Wm., Jess, and Margaret Elizabeth b. 20 Jun 1857 md. #1 William Hider and #2 to Dr. Decator Smith.

• I believe that there were two Bradley Daltons that have been mixed up: Bradley Dalton (NC): One was born about 1802 in North Carolina, father William Dalton and married Mary Polly Hill (Mary was also called Dolly at times) and the other Bradley Dalton (VA) born about 1755 in Virginia, father David Dalton, married Dolly Robinson. Will continue to research this.
• Do not merge with Dalton-3919 Think this Dalton was incorrectly attached to Polly HIll and Toliver Dalton Even though this warning was present the two Bradley's were merged. The wrong one was Bradley Dalton b. 1755 to David Dalton & Hannah Goad

• Current research of Marcus Judd: "The Bradley Dalton I am working with in my search at present was born in 1802 at Green River Cove, NC. He was the son of William Dalton and Charlotte Johnson. He married Mary Hill in 1827 in Rutherford County, NC. They had four children: Toliver (1828-1908), Randolph (b1829), Dolphus and Sarah. Bradley married a second time to Narcissa Heyden in 1840 in Rutherford Co, NC. They had nine (9) children: Martha, Henry, John B., Hampton. Bynum, Matilda, Lincy, Elizabeth, and Freelove. Their birth years range from 1842 to 1860. I believe that Mary Dalton was also in this family. My mother, who was born in 1887 to Mary Dalton and Fate (Lafayette) Cates, would tell us that Mary Dalton had a brother, Toliver Dalton, who would come to visit them sometimes. Bradley also married again to Amarita Edwards in 1868. Any help appreciated."
