Biography

Abigail Downing was born on June 5, 1735, at Canterbury, Windham County, Colony of Connecticut,[1] to Ichabod and Abigail Downing.[2]

Marriage

Abigail married James Rollins in 1756 in Hillsborough, Province of New Hampshire. Together they had the following known ten children:

  1. Mary Rollins Adams (1758-1818)
  2. James Rollins (1760-1849)
  3. John Porter Rollins (1762-1819)
  4. Joseph Rollins (1764-1836)
  5. Abigail Rollins Morse (1765-1812)
  6. Hannah Rollins Gleason (1767-1838)
  7. Samuel Rollins (1769-?)
  8. Lydia Rollins Winch (1771-1827)
  9. William Rollins (1772-1833)
  10. Fanny Rollins Norcross (1775-1815)

Death

Abigail passed away at the age of 54 on May 7, 1790, about a month after her mother's passing. She is buried in the Dublin Town Cemetery, Dublin New Hampshire.[3]
