Known Children

  • Simon Fraser

Note: Alexander and Hugh, may be the same person. This needs more research.

Research Notes

Please Note: The LNAB for this profile needs to be corrected to Jonsson.

  • Estimated birth year is based on the father's date of birth + 21 years.

Working Page for Sinclair-219 will be used to help sort out a possible conflation.

  • As confirmed via the Scots Peerage, Vol. VII and PoMS record no. 16438 (https://www.poms.ac.uk/record/person/16438/; accessed 15 June 2023), Joanna Fraser has been removed as a daughter and connected to the correct parents. Please do not re-attach. Crawford-15512 21:31, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

After working with Shonda on sorting out the two Simon Fraser profiles, it is clear that the daughter, Joanna, should be attached to Fraser-203 and his spouse Unknown-599073. This is confirmed through the source Shonda provided: Scots Peerage, Vol VII, pg. 422 and corroborated with PoMS record no. 16438 (https://www.poms.ac.uk/record/person/16438/; accessed 15 June 2023). She will be detached and a note placed in the Research Notes section indicating the reasoning.

Margaret, based on her Abt. 1280 birth date would have only been six years old at the Abt. 1286 birth of her daughter, Joanna Fraser.
Thanks Shonda

Unfortunately, the attached daughter is not sourced and I have found no reference to her in any of the sources on this profile. I have added this profile to our to our To Review list and hopefully we can solve the mystery soon.

She is on page 422 listed with her sister and parents: https://archive.org/details/cu31924092516248/page/422/mode/2up. S

She has the right father attached, and if you click on him, you will see the correct mother.

Her mother was Maria (Unknown) Fraser (abt.1266-)

Looking more closely, there appears to be some conflation. If you'd like to work with me on sorting this out, let me know via PM or contact me on Discord.

This profile's LNAB is incorrect and needs to be changed. Using the patronymic seems in keeping with the remainder of the family. Discussion?
