I am specifically searching for the ancestors of my paternal great-grandparents John Thomas Hamilton and Sarah Elizabeth "Bettie" Tallent. All I currently have on my paternal great-grandfather John Thomas Hamilton (1827–1932) is circumstantial evidence. I’ve not been able to locate any form of direct documentation or discover anything regarding his parents or siblings, much less previous wife or his children prior to this 1900 census. I’ve been passionately searching since 1998, and I’ve been stranded here heartbroken in front of this brick wall since 2008. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. My only desire is to know from where I came, to learn about those that lived before me & what within them lives on within myself. I dream of leaving my children, grandchildren & future generations a full & rich heritage to never be forgotten, lost or abandoned again.
There have been several variations on the spelling of my great-grandparents last names…Hambleton/Hammilton/Hamilton and Salante/Tallant/ Tallent to name a few.
