Manny, I connected Tommy to the familiy you had. I also did some digging around the Applin family here and in Find A Grave and I found https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Applin-83 who died in WW2. Your wife would be related to him too.

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

Hello and thank you for this opportunity. For starters, I was lead to this site by a distant cousin (line to be determined?) Derek Hawthorne -822. My interests are research my family history's (paternal & maternal) as far back as it is possible? The maternal surnames listing appears to be extensive. Unfortunately, for the name Hawthorne I seem to have come to a wall, with my G. Great Grandfather named David (D.O.B. ~1824) married to Sarah Johnston. Records of David's kin appear to be no where to be found?? Therefore when Derek mentioned this site, I was once again excited to continue the research! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
