My Hooley ancestors were not given to travel, and can be traced back to around the year 1600 nearly always in the area between Derby and Nottingham. My Fennell ancestors, however, developed itchy feet; I have traced them back to the 1670's when one Griffin Fennell appeared in mid-Warwickshire. In 1958 I married my wife, Valerie Platt, whose ancestors, along with mine, are included in the following list:-

ASTLE, ASTON, BENTLEY, BROWN, BY, CARTER, CASTLEDINE, CLARE,COOPER, COXON,CROSSLAND, CUBBIN, DIBLEY,DICKENS, DINGMAN, EDEN, FARRER , FENNELL, GOLDBY GREEN,HALSEY, HAMPSON, HENLEY, HESLOP, HILL, HOAD, HUTCHINS, JOWETT, KIRKHAM, LEE, MARSDEN, MARTIN, MASON, MEDLOCK, MORDIKE, PETERS, PLACKET, PLATT, PLATTS, QUAYLE, SHILTON, SMEDLEY, SOARE, STRUTT, TAYLOR, THEOBALD, THORNLEY, THORPE, WALKER, WARD ,WHYMAN, WILLIAMS, WINTERBOTTOM.

Hi David. You asked me if Eliza Paget (Paget-161) could have married a Thomas Hoad in 1869. Afraid not. She would have been only 13 then. Also, I have a Census record of her as Eliza Paget living with her uncle Henry Charles Keen in 1871, age 16.

Hi David, Thanks for the comments re David Hooley 1802. At that point there were 3 David Hooleys born at that time (1802, 1804 & abt 1806) The one shown on this sight is the one born 1802 and Married to Rachel Taylor, David 1804 was married to Betty Schofield and David abt 1806 was married the Sarah Meadowcroft but I'm not sure when he was actually born. I've not added anything to this site for a long time now as I've been concentrating on my own site. In fact if you look there you will find all three Davids listed. My name is Dianne Day and I live in Western Australia. Japheth Hooley married Ann Attenborough. Her brother, Henry Attenborough born 1822 was my great great grandfather. Most of the family lived in Stanley Derbyshire. Henry married Jane Wright, they had 12 children one being Keziah born 1865 my great grandmother. She married Edward Smith with whom she had 8 children, Margaret Lily (Lee) being my grandmother.

I have recently been to Ilkeston and visited relations and together we found graves for Attenboroughs, Smiths, and Lee families. I do believe that I need to be a trusted member to connect the two Japheth Hooley's. Regards Dianne

Thanks David for your question.

Did you go to: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:SearchPerson and type in name and then find Resort by First Name | Last Name at Birth | Birth Date | Death Date | Profile Manager and click on that?? (I tested mine and it seems to work just fine.)

If that is not the case and you did or doing something else, or its a computar glitch maybe a question on g2g forum would help. Go to: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/ and then post it under WikiTree Tech and one of our tech persons will be glad to assist you further. Good Luck!

Hi,

I noticed your new Club 100 badge.

Congratulations ?

Keep up the nice work.

Hi David,

Re james Hooley we went through that loop a few years back and came to the conclusion that nothing could be proved. The James Hooley his Father is shown as a Weaver on the birth cert, but on James 1828 -1918 two marriage certs hethe father is shown as a labourer.

The only person that seems to fit the bill (and its a gut feeling) is a James Hooley in the 1841 census living with John Barlow at Dry Knowl Farm. That could then possible mean he is associated in some way with Ray Hulley's Ches 04 Family and also we have DNA results between myself and someone from the Ches 04 tree and thay are almost a perfect match (just two markers off in 34).

But unfortunately still at a brick wall as the his parentage.

Cheers

Rick
