Hezekiah Lincecum was born in Georgia in 1770, the son of Gideon Lincecum Sr. (murdered in Wilkes Co., Georgia in 1776) and his wife, Miriam Bowie. Miriam was a sister to James Bowie's grandfather (also named James Bowie). Miriam died in Eatonton, Georgia in 1813. Gideon Lincecum, (son of Hezekiah Lincecum and grandson of Gideon Lincecum Sr). says in his autobiography that Gideon Lincecum Sr. was killed by Indians hired by the British. This happened while he was serving to help protect the home front.
Hezekiah Lincecum, known as Ky, was a large, robust man with a beautiful voice. He had tried farming three times in Tennessee, twice in Georgia, and once in South Carolina before settling on the Tombigbee River near Columbus, Mississippi. Ky Lincecum was one of those restless men who always thought that the grass was greener on the other side of the fence.
Hezekiah first married Sally Strange. The marriage did not last long and no children were born of this union. He married Sally Hickman March 2, 1791. To them were born ten children:
In 1818, Hezekiah and family moved to Columbus, Mississippi. They were one of the first white families to settle in that area. He and probably his wife were counted on the census in Lowndes County, Mississippi in 1830[1]
and 1837.[2]
Hezekiah died in Ponotoc, Mississippi on March 4, 1839 at age of seventy.[3]

The most recent common ancestors of Patricia Stracener and Cecil Tilley are Daniel Moore and Emily Lincecum. Their two DNA tests cannot support the relationship of Emily's father to his own parents. I've changed the 'confirmed with DNA' entries to confident.
Lincecum-1 and Lincecum-13 appear to represent the same person because: Hezekiah Lincecum is my 3rd Great Grandfather. I have been doing my family research for over 45 years but I am new to WikiTree. I hope that I have done this right. If not please let me know. Thank you, Patricia Stracener (Tutt) (Woods)
