Biography

Louise was born in 1972 in Fife, Scotland. She was the only child from her parents' first marriage. They both subsequently remarried. Louise's Mum had custody of her and her Mum's second marriage brought along an older step-sister, a younger half brother, and a younger half sister. Louise spent the first 6 years of her life in Ladybank, Fife. For two of those years she was enrolled in Ladybank Primary School. The family eventually moved to Strathmiglo, another village that lay only a few miles along the road. There she went to Strathmiglo Primary School for P3 through P7 before going on to Bell Baxter High School in Cupar for Secondary Years 1 through 6. After High School, Louise attended the University of Dundee, (1990-1994), gaining an MA in English and meeting her future husband, Stephen, during her final year. Due to his work, the pair moved to Shropshire, England for a few years, (1995-1997), then returned to Scotland to live in Perth. Louise worked at the Scottish Hydro Electric briefly, and then at Perth and Kinross Council. Louise and Stephen were married in 1998, but separated in 2002 after 8 years together. There were no children from the marriage. Stephen moved south to Bristol, England. Louise moved westwards to live in the south side of Glasgow. After a year of living in Glasgow, Louise moved to West Lothian to be near her step sister and brother-in-law, and there she met her current partner, David (Davy) Curran. Davy proposed in 2003. Louise's divorce was granted in 2004. Davy's divorce was granted in 2005. For various reasons they chose not to actually get married and are perfectly happy as they are. Louise gained 3 step children and, eventually, 2 step grandchildren. She has however never had any children of her own. After many years of various administrative roles, Louise has been self employed as a fabric and fibre artist since 2013, regularly vending at major yarn festivals and craft events. She also serves as Chairperson on the Livingston Crafts Association committee.

Hi Louise

I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Have fun collaborating on your ancestors
