Hi Margaret, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your ancestors in the United Kingdom. I wanted to let you know we have a great project that focuses on the UK here called United Kingdom Project It would be a great place for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.
Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.
Good luck with your research in 2015.
Hello, I'm Mary, a Mentor. Our goal is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person. Please make sure to avoid Duplicates when adding a profile.
Please add DOB, DOD, locations, and Sources/references attached to each person and assists all of us!
AND glad you are on top of checking sources.
If you encounter ancestors already on WikiTree ( less than 200 years), contact the Profile Manager for trusted access.
Thanks for joining us, Margaret. I hope you enjoy our community! We're a friendly bunch, and you'll fit right in with your good attitude about checking sources :)
Margaret, you are now a member of WikiTree! Please help us build one Collaborative Global Family Tree, which means only one profile per person. It's important that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.
My name is Margaret, currently living in Australia but most of my tree is UK based (born in Sussex, England). Been researching for quite a few years now mostly with Ancestry. I don't copy anything from another tree without doing my own verifying (as much as I can online!) and I am very happy to share all my research with others. I agree with all your rules and the mission.
