Hi!

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few quick tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, Merging and Templates.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

As always, I'm here to help!

Eowyn

PS: Couple of things.

In order to become a full member, you will need to sign the Honor Code. There should be a link there for you to "accept". Second: Your GEDCOM report is ready to review. Select MY CONTRIBUTIONS link, and then the link where you uploaded your GEDCOM. Step 2 has a link for you to review your report. Need any more help, let me know please!

Hi! How are things going? Do you have any questions? Two week Member!

As you go farther back in your tree, it is a good idea to do a search first to see if you have a match already created on Wiki Tree before creating a new profile. And keep in mind, if you do find a match, odds are the manager is also related to that person and probably you!

There is a great question to review on G2G regarding duplicate profiles and merges. See: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/51703/behind-merges-identifying-lowest-numbered-profile-correct

A great place to ask specific question is on G2G. Under My Wiki Tree (on of the links at top right) select G2G PROFILE. You can browse/ask/answer questions. You can also "tag" them by topic. I am a mentor, so let me know if you have any questions! Nae

Hi Timothy,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good place to start. It is a step-by-step-guide to WikiTree basics. Our Forum is searchable or you can post a question there. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.

It is very important that no duplicate profiles are created in WikiTree. Please read this page for clues on avoiding profile duplication.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Yes.. Looking forward to contributing and learning more as we all are and delving deeper into our genetic history and the science behind. With the growth and constant updating of what we thought we knew to what is, opens up yet more interesting possibilities and facts that push this science stream more and more to the fore front of people's interest and consciousness.

I have already learn't much in my short time and have sparked the passion in other people to do as I have and test.. I'm excited by more and more people and ethnic groups testing so we can get a true global picture that may be able to fill the picture that history has told us but with undeniable truths. But I'm also thankful to the many experts and dedicated followers that have put in time and effort to get things to now  :)
