My father was adopted and never knew his father but we know he was a richard davis and the mother was edna mansfield of brandon/dauphin canada. I'm looking to find his father. My father is now dead but the search continues.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
I noticed your note about your father being adopted. There are some options for the way to set up his profile, depending on whether he is still living. If so, the help page for setting up profiles for adoptees explains a lot of options that you have and how to get some additional help. It's written as if you were the adoptee but the process is the same for any living person.
If he is not living, there is a page on profile set up for historical adoptions.
Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back to me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.
