Hey T,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Hi T,

Thanks for joining WikiTree! As a mentor I'm here to help. If you have questions or problems with WikiTree, post a comment on my profile page or send a private message.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so look for duplicates before adding new profiles. Remember to add dates and locations. And if you have royal ancestors, contact the EuroAristo Project to see about connecting to pre-existing royal lines.

If you feel lost, start with How To Use WikiTree, and check out the Help Index.

My primary concern is with those families who are associated with mine by descent or marriage. I believe in total sharing of information while respecting the privacy of those who may be still living. If we all share that which we know we will each find our own data is more complete and more accurate.

Hello T,

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. The help pages give lots of information about the process, but I recommend starting with 'Before you import a GEDCOM' (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Before_importing_a_GEDCOM) Another very helpful link, a step-by-step process, which includes screen-shots is (http://www.geneamusings.com/2013/12/adding-early-seaver-generations-to.html) The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM’

If you have problems getting your Gedcom accepted give me a shout.

Best of luck! Norman

Hello T,

Welcome to WikiTree! We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, striving for ONE collaborative profile per person.

To start:

Our Honor Code (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Honor_Code) is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree so please take time to read it. See How to use WikiTree for how it all works. Our G2G forum is the place to ask questions. If English is not your first language we have WikiTree Language Volunteers. Click the volunteer button if you want to help grow our tree and leave a comment on your profile about how you can contribute.

Have Fun!
