Biography

Job and his brother, Ichabod, were administrators for their mother's estate in Nov. 1724. Source: The early records of the town of Providence, v. I-XXI ... vol.12. Page 82. Ichabod and Job were the 2 youngest sons. Source: The early records of the town of Providence, v. I-XXI ... vol.16. Page 347.

Job and Ichabod were not mentioned in their father's will of Jan. 1692. In fact, Abel specifically mentioned his son, Stephen, as being his youngest son. But in 1724, widow Rachel appointed Ichabod and Job as her executors, mentioning them as being her two youngest sons (with Stephen still alive). We must conclude that they were twins, born in 1692 after Abel died.

Abel's wife, Rachel, made her youngest sons, Job and Ichabod, her executors for her estate in 1724. So, Job and Ichabod must have been born in 1692, some months after Abel died.

If Job Potter was a son of Abel Potter-2595 and born in October 1692, he was a posthumous child fathered by a man who probably was on his deathbed at the time he was conceived. If his father was named Abel, maybe the father was Potter-4186.
