Biography

In 1407, Arnold nominated the church at Hollingbourne as a parish church.[1] His father already held land there in the time of Edward III.[2]

His father, also named Arnold, held Fethersdon, Pluckley, Stanford and Elnotington. [citations needed]

The name of his wife is not known and only one son John is known.

After he died, some time between 1420 and 1423, Arnold's son John Inherited not only Arnold's lands but also the inheritance of the main St Leger line including Ulcombe.[3][4] [5][6]

Anyone have a source for the children apart from John? They share names with members of the family in other generations which is sometimes a sign that we merged in a message up gedcom or something like that.

Is there a reason why his father is marked as uncertain, since they have the same name and he inherited the property and everything?

The father's profile has apparently also been heavily questioned and does not seem to have any good sources yet.

Father is ok. Problem is still wife and children (apart from John).

The wife still seems to be an outstanding concern.

I think Jeanne of Luxembourg should be unlinked or at least marked uncertain as his wife-I haven't been able to find any reference of her St. Leger marriage (e.g. on Charles Cawley's "Medieval Lands" [1]). Does anyone know of such a source for Arnold St. Leger's wife?

Removed Joan de Cherleton (1400-1425) Cherleton-1 that married John Grey, as mother based on Douglas Richardson, MCA, Pg 428.
posted by David Douglass
It appears that Joan de Cherleton (1400 - 1425) Cherleton-1 daughter of Edward Cherleton is incorrectly linked to Arnold St Leger as his spouse because of incorrect association with his children as their mother. This Joan de Charleton married John Grey KG. see: Magna Carta Ancestry: A Study in Colonial and Medieval Families, 2nd Edition, 2011, Douglas Richardson, Pg 428 According to MCA, Pg 428, the marriage relationship to St. Leger and children should be unlinked.
