DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Ben or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ben:

Welcome Benjamin!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. We are building one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person.

It is important to check for duplicates as you add any Profiles to WikiTree. Instead of making another profile of the same person, we add our sources to profiles which match ours and are already on WikiTree.

See How to Use WikiTree to be quickly oriented.

Our list of Projects offers unique ways to participate in WikiTree.

Visit our G2G Forum for answers to questions like this one: How do you find sources?

Thank you for joining us in building our shared tree.

Am fascinated with tracing my family's history and love uncovering the little rocks that lead to giant goldmines of information about them. I get discouraged when I see information out there that is clearly inaccurate but that there doesn't appear to be an easy way to point out the inaccuracies. Working off of a group tree that was built with exactly this sort of collaborative intention is exactly what I've been looking for.

Benjamin, I noticed you plan to or already uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to instructions on the step-by-step gedcom import at WikiTree , including screenshots that you might find helpful. You might also want to check out our gedom instructions

Please keep in mind that our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person. Thank you for taking the time to go through your gedmatches at WikiTree when you upload your gecom.

TIP: if your ancestor was born over two hundred years ago, there's a very good chance she/he already has a profile on wikitree.
