   3. ) Honor Tanner, son? of William and Hannah, was born 15 Dec 1716 at North Kingstown, Rhode Island. {George Tanner D.D, in his 1905 Tanner Genealogy (page 12) provides what appears to be an independent (from Arnold) transcription of the North Kingston vital records for the family of William Tanner Jr. and renders the name of this child as PALMOR. George Tanner has a major advantage over Arnold, having studied the family and consequently having foreknowledge of the children's names, hence able to render a more accurate transcription. }

   2. ) On 11 May 1743, Benjamin Tanner, tailor, buys in Exeter 70 acres of land; admitted freeman 7 June 1743. On 10 Jan 1743/4, Abigail Tanner, appears before the council and acknowledges the will of her late husband, decased, made in Dec, 1743, in which he names his two sons, Samuel and Abel, and wife Abigail; and in case of the death of his sons, then his two sisters, Hannah Tanner and Mary Tanner, are to enjoy their bequests. George Tibbetts and Thomas Hill of North Kingstown are named Executors. On 10 Dec 1754, Abel Tanner, son of Benjamin, appears before the town council and chooses his grandfather Willliam, for a guardian. Abel {in having the right to choose a guardian} must have been fourteen years of age, or past. {It also means that in all likihood, his mother Abigail Tripp had recently also died.}
   3. ) In 1760 Abel appears before the council and desires letters on administration on the estate of his brother Samuel Tanner, Samuel having been absent for three years and upward. In 1761, the council appointed Abel adminstrator. The inventory, amounting to $629, 13s, was presented by Abel. No further account appears of Abel, and likely he removed to the West or as then called "up country."
