Anna, My 2x gr grandfather David Asbel Anders was born Nov. 20, 1822 in Greenville, South Carolina and died June 3, 1920 in Transylvania Co., NC.
David was raised by Margaret and John Bishop. We think Margaret was Anders/Andrews based on John's War of 1812 pension papers.
In 1824, Hirum Cooley, a nephew of Elizabeth Cooley Vincent and Ezekiel Vincent bought 111 acres of land from Phillip Bishop. So the Cooley's and Vincent's knew each other. Based on DNA matches I believe that one of Elizabeth and Ezekiel Vincent's son's is my ancestor's father.
In 1853 David bought land on Green River in Henderson County. In the 1860 census, he and his family were listed as living in Caesers Head in Greenville, S.C.
